SILICONINTERVENTION WINS “SHARK TANK” COMPETITION AT MEMS EXECUTIVE CONFERENCE ORGANIZED BY SEMI

SiliconIntervention (SI), a pioneer in high efficiency silicon solutions for sensor based signal chains, won first place in a “Shark Tank” style competition at MEMSEC 2024, held in Montreal, Canada last week.

In a conference session devoted to the examination of startup innovation, SI was invited to compete against three other pioneering entrants. The session was chaired by Sebastian Michel, VP&GM Teledyne MEMS who was joined by three deep tech investment experts— “The Sharks.”

The Sharks were:
Paul Pickering, Managing Partner, Silicon Catalyst
Charles Lesperance, Venture Partner, BDC Capital Deep Tech Venture Fund
Martin Enault, Consultant and EIR, Quantum Innovation Zone

Martin Mallinson, SI’s Founder and Chief Scientific Officer, took the stage and explained why a new architectural approach to sensor domain signal processing offers the best opportunity for the MEMS industry to move forward and reach new levels of power efficiency, accuracy, and cost effectiveness.

Martin went on to compare traditional approaches that convert analog sensor signals immediately to digital data for processing by a processor such as a DSP against an approach that processes signals in the analog domain taking advantage of an analog neural network architecture, needing no pre-training.

The audience members were impressed with SI’s architectural approach to solve many of the industry’s pain points, with many coming up to Martin after the session. Martin commented that, “The feedback has served as a complete validation of our work and approach, and we look forward to working with many of the companies attending this conference in the future.”

SiliconIntervention, a Canadian Company, was formed in 2019 as the result of the pioneering research and development of its founder Martin Mallinson. The Company generates revenue delivering design services and advanced analog and digital IP.

With a portfolio of over 40 patents either granted or applied for, the company has a wealth of knowhow based on the team’s experience in the industry over the last 30 years.
